Addressable fire alarm panel FAP “Rubezh-2AM” is used in addressable systems of fire alarm, firefighting and smoke removal. Using this panel you can build a distributed address fire alarm system and you can collate up to 32 such panels through RS-485 interface. Each panel can operate 500 addressable devices, produced by us. The main functions are: receiving signals from addressable devices in the signaling line, activation of signaling devices and systems of firefighting and smoke removal, controlling the work of devices, indication of received signals and sound indication of work modes.

Addressable fire alarm panel FAP “Rubezh-2AM” can work with the following devices:

The alarm panel is a plastic box inside of which is a board with installed electronic components. There is a keyboard with 20 buttons and 4-line screen on the front side of the panel.
The panel also contains a built-in buzzer to indicate events and to attract the operator’s attention.

The panel exchanges the information with addressable devices through the two-wired signaling line. The addressable detectors, address assignment point AM-1, addressable relay modules, MDU-1 are fed through the signaling line. MPT-1, AMP-4 and MRO-2 need external feeding DC12V.

The configuration of fire alarm system is made by using the PC. You can connect the panel and PC through interface converter USB/RS-485. The software FireSec Administrator for system configuration is supplied with the panel free of charge. After you configure the panel it can work either stand-alone or with the program FireSec Operator installed on your PC.

The panel has NVRAM to keep the data base of addressable devices and the event log. To anchor the events to the time there is a battery inside the panel for the embedded clock.

To operate the panel there is a twenty button keyboard and 4-line display (20 characters each line).

The panel keeps a log which contains 1000 events. All the events are stored in NVRAM and can be read on the screen when needed. The events are recorded in a circular buffer.

All the wires are connected to the panel through screw terminal blocks.
The addressable fire alarm panel controls addressable devices through 2-wired signaling line.
You can connect up to 500 addressable devices to the panel (each line 250 devices)
The total length of each signaling line – 1000 meters
Monitoring of the short circuit, break, overload.
Monitoring of the devices’ correct work.
Light indication of work modes.
Sound indication of work modes.

Four relays are installed in the FAP “Rubezh-2AM”

Relay No.1 switches when signals “Fire” or “Attention” are received. Returns in starting position: when the events “Fire” or “Attention” are reset; when holdup timer expires (0-255 sec)

Relay No.2 switches when signal “Fault” is received. Returns in starting position: when the fault is removed; when holdup timer expires (0-255 sec)

Relay No.3 starts to switch on and off with frequency 0,5 Hz when signals “Fire” or “Attention” are received. Returns in starting position when the events “Fire” or “Attention” are reset.

Relay No.4 switches when signal “Fire” is received. Returns in starting position when the event “Fire” is reset; when holdup timer expires (0-255 sec)

You can reset the fire alarm sound of the panel using the software FireSec Operator or by means of the panel’s keyboard.
You can reset the fault alarm sound only using the panel’s keyboard. Relay No.3 is not programmable. Relays No.1, No.2, No.4 are programmable and you can set for them the following parameters:

  • “Switch delay” – set the period of time after expiring of which the relay will switch when signals “Fire”, “Attention”, “Fault” are received. You can set the period 0-255 seconds.
  • “Holdup” – set the period of time after expiring of which the relay will return in starting position. You can set 0-255 seconds. If you set 0 the relay won’t return in starting position till you reset the alarm manually.

The FAP “Rubezh-2AM” has 5 main buttons:
Fire – when you push this button you will see the log with filtered “Fire” or “Attention” events.
Fault – when you push this button you will see the list of devices with faults.
D/T – when you push this button you will see the list of detoured devices.
Test – switches to testing of indicators, sound, display and keyboard.
MENU – enters menu of the FAP.

The panel has 7 LEDs:

  • Fire – red LED. Doesn’t shine in normal mode. Starts to flash once every two seconds in “Attention” mode. Shines constantly in “Fire” mode;
  • Firefighting – red LED. Doesn’t shine in normal mode. When the firefighting is activated starts to flash once every two seconds;
  • Fault – yellow LED. Shines constantly when any fault is detected. Doesn’t shine in normal mode;
  • System fault– yellow LED. Doesn’t shine when there are no faults in the system. Starts to flash once every two seconds when any fault is detected;
  • Disablement – yellow LED. Shines constantly when any device or service is disabled. Doesn’t shine in normal mode;
  • Test – yellow LED. Shines constantly when any zone is in test mode.
  • Power – green LED. Flashes once every two seconds when the voltage drop is detected. Shines constantly when the voltage is too high.
