Smoke detector AFD-S 64 is used for detecting fire coming with the small concentration smoke within closed rooms of different buildings and the detector sends a “Fire” signal to control panel FAP “Rubezh-2AM”. The feeding and information exchange is carried out through two-wired control line. The detector does not react upon humidity changes, daylight or candlelight.

AFD-S 64 is a point threshold smoke detector with adjustable sensitivity. The work is based on optical control of the density of the air. In the smoke detector with a certain frequency the comparison of the amplitude of impulses of infrared emanation which reflects from the smoke particles in the smoke chamber with set threshold valuation is done. To provide this an infrared diode and a photoreceiver under a certain angle is installed inside the smoke chamber. In normal state the infrared emanation from the diode does not reach the photoreceiver. When the smoke penetrates the smoke chamber the infrared emanation is dispersed and a part of it reaches the photoreceiver. If the flow of reflected emanation exceeds the threshold valuation the smoke detector AFD-S 64 sends the signal to the control panel which forms the fire alarm signal.

The optoelectronic address-analogue smoke detector has the following functions:
- smoke concentration measuring;
- processing the measuring data and taking the decision to form the “Fire” signal;
- indication of work mode;
- automatic compensation of dust level in the smoke chamber.

The detector consists of a detector itself and a socket. It has a plastic case with an optoelectronic system inside.
To avoid false activation, because of the dust in the smoke chamber a special algorithm of automatic dust compensation applied. This supports the sensitivity at the proper level and allows to avoid too often maintenance of the detector.
You can set the detector’s sensitivity from 0,05 to 0,20 db/m using the programmer PKU-1 or the control panel.
The feeding of the detector and information exchange with the control panel is carried out through the two wired signaling line.
You can test the AFD-S 64 by pressing a button or with a special optical tester OT-1.
”Fire” signal also remains after the smoke stops affecting the detector. You can reset the “Fire” signal using the control panels FAP “Rubezh-2AM” and BUNS-01.

To check the detector’s state there is an optical indicator there. See table No.1 to check with the indication meaning.

Main technical parameters

    The detector can work constantly at the temperature –25 - +55°Ñ.
