The addressable firefighting module MPT-1 is used to make the system of local powder and gas firefighting. It is possible to configure the module’s inputs and outputs using the control panel. The MPT-1 supports the work of light-and-sound annunciators, controls doors and windows of the protected room, operates the automatic firefighting devices at the commands of both the control panel and manual start button.

You can connect the following equipment to the firefighting module:

• automatic firefighting devices (powder fire extinguishers, gas fire extinguishers);
• manometers for extinguisher pressure control;
• scale for extinguisher weight control;
• fire emergency boards (“GAS, DO NOT ENTER”, “GAS, LEAVE THE ROOM’, “AUTOMATIC OFF’);
• sound alarm devices (light-and-sound annunciators);
• sensors for DALLAS touch-memory keys;
• devices for manual actuating (manual call point);
• a button for stopping the firefighting system;
• additional MPTs to increase the number of automatic firefighting devices.

The module consists of a cover and a base which form a body. There is a board with electronic components inside the body. On the front side of the module there is a LED, which indicates the working mode. The module also controls the opening of its body and sends a signal to the control panel.

The module exchanges the information with the control panel through the two-wired signaling line. It transmits the information about its status and about the status of connected devices to the control panel, receives signals to start or stop firefighting.

To configure the work of sound-and-light alarm and outputs controlling the fire extinguishing devices you have to use the addressable fire alarm panel FAP “Rubezh-2AM”. You can configure the following parameters:

• address;
• status (leading, driven);
• working mode of every relay output;
• logic of work of every relay output;
• type of circuit control for every relay output (break, short circuit);
• value of normal condition of sensors “Mass”, “Pressure”, “Doors/windows” (normally open or normally closed).

You can also configure the given parameters using the program “ProgAU” which should be installed on your PC for this.

To make this you have to connect the control panel to the USB port of PC, launch the program “ProgAU” and set the parameters of the MPT-1. Then choose the inlay “Actions” – “Write/read parameters”. The window will open where you have to input the signaling line number of the control panel to which the MPT-1 is connected, input the address of MPT-1 and click the button “Write”.

You can set activation delay and holdup time after MPT-1 receives a signal from the control panel using the program FireSec Administrator.

Construction and action of the addressable firefighting module MPT-1

To control only the short circuit do not install the diode 1N4002.
To control only the break of the circuit do not install 1N5402.
If the output circuit is not controlled the diodes 1N4002 and 1N5402 are not installed.
To control the break of the output when it is turned on you need to provide the passing of the current under the duty not less than 50mA.

If the MPT-1 is assigned as leading it has two working modes: “Automatic off” and “Automatic on”. If the MPT-1 is assigned as driven it has only one mode “Automatic off” and works under the control of the leading MPT-1. In the mode “Automatic off” the start of firefighting is possible only locally. You have to activate a manual annunciator connected to the signaling line of MPT-1.
The mode “Automatic off” activates under the following conditions:

• activation of the sensor “Doors/window”;
• pressing the “Stop” button;
• by command of Touch Memory key;
• by command of the control panel.

• when manual annunciator connected to MPT-1 is activated;
• automatically on the command from the control panel when the fire is detected;
• manually from the control panel.

• feeding the MPT-1;
• by command of Touch Memory key;
• by command of the control panel.

On the front side of the module there are LEDs, which indicate the working mode.
If the module is set as leading the LED “NORM” will shine constantly in the “Automatic on” mode and won’t shine in the “Automatic off” mode.
If the module is set as driven the LED “NORM” flashes once every two seconds. The LED “CONNECTION” flashes once every five seconds when there is a steady connection and doesn’t shine when the connection is lost.

3. The module controls one signaling line with the following parameters:
   - SL is used for connection a non-addressable manual annunciator with normally open contacts;
   - In series with the manual annunciator an additional resistor 510 Ohm ±5% 0,5W should be installed;
   - The resistance of the SL wires should not exceed 100 Ohm without taking the end resistor into account;
   - The leakage impedance of the SL wires should be not less than 50 kOhm;
   - The end resistor 4,7 kOhm ±5% 0,25W should be connected to SL.
4. The control current of the detector inputs and a “Stop” button – not more than 1mA.
5. The module has five relay outputs (28VDC, 2A) which are controlled to detect short circuit or break both when the inputs are turned on or not.
6. The control current of the accuracy of the relay output circuit – not more than 1mA.
7. The signaling lines are not connected to the control panel’s power in.
8. The configuration of the module is made through the signaling line.
